For the past few months, I’ve been working through Julia Cameron’s book, “It’s Never Too Late to Begin Again.” Over the years I have facilitated and participated in Artist’s Way groups so when one of my friends suggested we do this book together I was totally game! It’s interesting this time however because, 1) I am not retired, and 2) I am doing this with two men! I seem to have such a strong connection to both, but David is totally like an older, wiser, male version of me. Oftentimes I feel like I am looking in a mirror. Since I admire him so much, I feel like I can relax because everything is going to be okay, I am going to be okay. This current chapter is about reigniting a sense of humility and one of the tasks, is to name a believing mirror; a person who mirrors us back to ourselves as creative, capable, and expansive. So guess who his mirror is…me! Cool, right? It was such a pleasure to have time with him to share our desires to expand and focus on our creativity this year. I am excited to see what we will create as we take baby steps while trusting the process, ourselves, and each other to see what unfolds.
